The Best Shows on the Web
Looking for great sample PowerPoint shows? Here are some of my favorites, along with why I find them interesting!
- Inspired by the Matrix, PowerPoint MVP Taj Simmons created this presentation to show some of the great effects you could do with the animations and effects available from PowerPoint 2002 and 2003. He calls this one PPTRIX. Check it out here
- TAJ also has a sample show that shows off some of the text effects anyone can do - If they know how. While not designed for text heavy presentations, these effects work well for presentations that need to grab a viewer's attention, but which don't take too much effort to create. Find them here
- Looking for a Jeopardy game? I strongly recommend two of these.
- Echo Swinford's can be found on this page of her site. Her demo works with PowerPoint 2002 and 2003.
- Bill Foley has the other great one on his site. It works in any version of PowerPoint and uses macros to get the work done. It can be found here.
- Also on this page of Bill's site is a sample of Family Feud game. This one also uses VBA, but it adds userforms to the package.
- Echo's site has several other great demos for you to check out. Some of them are hers, some are other newsgroup contributors. Check out the whole list here.
- Glenna Shaw has several great samples available for download from the download page her site The PowerPoint Magician. All of Glenna's samples are great. However, the one she created for PowerPoint Live - Origins of PowerPoint - has to be one of my favorite PowerPoint presentations ever!
- Flexible Education With PowerPoint,
an article from Geetesh Bajaj's Indezine is a case study on PowerPoint usage at the University of Tasmania, Australia by Dr. Simon James provides some great information on how the university integrates PowerPoint into their classrooms. This link from the article contains three great PowerPoint samples/tutorials on using PowerPoint to create educational materials.
Hopefully, these great PowerPoint shows will give you some ideas on how to improve your presentations. If you have a PowerPoint show available on the web, let me know. I'll evaluate it for addition to
